The ''Big Mac'', the future heir to the legendary McLaren F1 that's destined to propel the British automaker back to the top of the supercar world, is beginning track tests and providing us with unique information about its potential.
Designing a replacement for the F1 is certainly no easy task, but all signs point to a real war machine taking the auto industry by storm.
An almighty 5.0-litre V8 engine sends 800 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission, shooting the ''Big Mac'' from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in a ridiculous time of 2.8 seconds.
McLaren plans to release the car in 2014... obviously under a different name than the famous burger.
