General Motors today unveiled the completely redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500. Both will offer a choice of three EcoTec3 engines including a 4.3L V6, a 5.3L V8, and a 6.2L V8.
The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 features a quieter, more comfortable cabin, as well as a revised steering, suspension and braking system. The new front seats have more durable dual-density foam, while Crew cab occupants benefit from two extra inches of rear legroom.
Moreover, Crew cab models offer the 6’6” box as a new option in addition to the 5’8” box.
The 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 boasts an unprecedented combination of comfort, safety, space and technology. Updates to the body and chassis include a fully boxed frame that uses high-strength steel and hydroforming, as well as new cab structures that incorporate high-strength steel. Also, the larger rear axles are strong enough to handle the increased output of each engine.
Inside, customers will be able to get IntelliLink connectivity, an 8'' high-definition touchscreen, Bluetooth phone features, navigation with all-new map displays, along with voice command.
Fuel consumption and performance numbers for both trucks remain unspecified. The same goes for market release dates, although the new 2014 Chevy Silverado is expected to arrive next summer.
