The 6,100 workers at MG Rover were told on Friday to continue working; however, it's not known how much longer the company will be kept alive, even with the help of the government. Assembly line workers at the plant are expected to be paid £280 for every year of service, up to 12 years. In contrast, John Towers, chairman of PVH, and his three associates, known as the Phoenix Four, have managed to extract £40m from the business since its time of purchase five years ago, according to U.K. newspaper The Telegraph. As with Enron, WorldCom, Jetsgo and other big businesses in trouble, it's always those on top who emerge the winners.
