Ever since NASCAR driver and team owner Michael Waltrip added investor Robert Kauffmann, at Michael Waltrip Racing, you could say that the two-time Daytona 500 winner had an itch to race sports cars.
Earlier this year they competed in the 24 Hours of Dubai. This weekend they took on the Spa 24 Hours, finishing fifth overall, and third in class. They were driving a Ferrari 430 entered by AF Corse ALD.
Waltrip wowed the European media with his humor. “I did learn something valuable. When it rains you’re supposed to stay off line and I’ve spent my most of my career off-line. Therefore, I was very comfortable in the race”.
