Michelin has just introduced a brand new generation of winter tires: the Michelin X-Ice Xi2. It's designed to provide exceptional grip and handling in the worst possible road conditions during the cold season.
The X-Ice tire had already set the standard for safety and confidence on ice and snow. For the new Xi2, Michelin used all its engineering expertise and obsession for innovation to raise the bar even higher.
According to the latest Michelin studies, consumers are asking for the best possible braking ability, less skidding and peace of mind when it comes to performing emergency stops. On icy or snowy surfaces, the advanced tread block technology of the Michelin X-Ice Xi2 works with the FleX-Ice silica-based rubber compound to help offer unprecedented braking performance. Moreover, its low-rolling resistance helps consumers save fuel.
Since the government of Quebec has decided to make winter tires mandatory starting next November, tire durability will become a very important issue. In this regard, the new Michelin tire offers the same uncompromising performance winter after winter. It will be available in 42 dimensions, ranging from 13- to 18-inch rim diameters.
