Rear space is good but it is not always easy to slip behind the wheel, as the roofline is very low. On the other hand, driving position is good, so is visibility. Like most Japanese cars, the instrumentation and the controls are all well placed and accessible except probably for the radio which is laid too low and might force the driver to take his eyes away from the road. Trunk space is good too. Actually, there is not much to be negative about the interior and its environment. But still, even if it is well laid out, it too is getting a little old and would need a complete makeover.
Though I would like to be more enthusiastic about the Millenia (and I was more in the past), I have to admit that I am looking at a car that is growing older without necessarily answering the needs of more modern buyers. At some $41 450 CDN (which is not overtly priced), it still is Mazda's best and most comfortable sedan but it deserves more than a simple face-lift.
