Gilligan feels bullish that his North American operations will be profitable yet again, with his target being during the fiscal year of 2006, which begins April 1st of this year. Yes, a myriad of April Fools jokes may come to mind when factoring in the beginning date of the automaker's fiscal year, but Gilligan isn't joking at all.
"(The investors) know we have great product capability," commented Gilligan, who took the reigns from ex-Hyundai CEO Finbarr O'Neill early last month. "They want to see success here and we're going to make it happen," he added.
