Sporty Galant Should Fit Well in European and Middle Eastern Markets

According to an Automotive News report, Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) plans to export its midsize entry to Eastern Europe as well as the Middle East beginning in model year 2006.
"There's a definite interest in Eastern Europe and the Gulf states," commented Rich Gilligan, who took over as CEO of MMNA after his predecessor Finbarr O'Neill's recent resignation.

The Galant will be seen as a large car in Europe, and a large midsize in the Middle Eastern countries where American-built sedans and sport utility vehicles are available. Its optional 230-horsepower V6 with 250 lb-ft of torque will give the Galant an advantage over is entry-level European competition.
Mitsubishi has gained a lot of credibility for its involvement in the FIA sanctioned World Rally Championship, the preeminent motorsport series in both markets next to Formula 1.
