Kia hosted the Canadian debut of the all-new 2016 Sorento at the Montreal Auto Show today. The third generation of this popular CUV will arrive at dealerships this spring.
The new Sorento has undergone impressive changes versus the outgoing model, including beefier proportions and a longer hood. The aggressively styled front end is an evolution of the upper fascia seen on the Cross GT concept (Chicago Auto Show, 2013). Three new alloy wheel designs are available ranging from 17”-19”.
Depending on the trim level, the 2016 Kia Sorento comes with standard 5-passenger and available 7-passenger seating configurations. Premium textures and high-quality materials are found throughout the cabin. For added luxury, buyers can add heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and Kia's second-generation panoramic sunroof.
As for engine choices, the 2016 Kia Sorento offers a 2.4L 4-cylinder GDI (185 horsepower), a 3.3L V6 GDI (290 horsepower), and a new 2.0L 4-cylinder GDI turbocharged powerplant (240 horsepower). All three are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
