Hyundai presents the 2009 5-door Elantra Touring
Hyundai presented the 2009 5-door Elantra Touring as a North American premiere. A direct competitor for the Toyota Matrix, the Dodge Caliber and the Mazda3 Sport, the Elantra Touring offers the biggest interior volume of all the compact 5-doors.
With styling that differs somewhat from the Elantra sedan, the Touring is in fact the little i30 that's sold in Europe. It's powered by the same 16-valve, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that develops about 141 horsepower, and mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic with manual mode.
Standard equipment includes A/C, power windows and locks, heated mirrors, cruise control, wheel-mounted audio controls, a CD/MP3 player and six speakers. A power sunroof, heated seats and 17-inch wheels are optional.
