The X5 range of 3.0i, 4.4i and 4.8is continue into 2006 with "detail enhancements" to both standard and optional equipment.

That means the X5 3.0i and 4.4i standard equipment list now offers two new colors -- Stratus Grey Metallic and LeMans Blue Metallic.

The X5 4.4i additionally offers lumbar support for driver and front passenger, and 18-inch double-spoke alloy wheels, while the X5 4.8is adds MP3 capability to the standard six-disc CD changer.

Changes to the X5 option list for the 3.0i and 4.4i models include Servotronic steering added to the Premium Package, and an eight-function on-board computer in the Sport Package that includes chrome rings in the instrument cluster.

For 2006, the X5 lineup starts with the X5 3.0i with five-speed Automatic with Steptronic at $59,500, the X5 4.4i with six-speed with Steptronic at $72,200, and the X5 4.8is with six-speed with Steptronic at $98,200.
