As if 400 horsepower wasn't enough, the 2008 'Vette will get a bigger engine as well as a bunch of other improvements.
An all-new 6.2-liter V8 will power the Corvette Coupe and Convertible models. Code-named LS3, it produces 430 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of torque, 30 and 24 more than the 2007 model, respectively. An optional dual-mode exhaust system will add another 6 horses and 4 lb-ft of torque.
Chevrolet claims the 2008 Corvette can reach 190 mph (304 km/h), while the automatic-equipped version is the fastest ever, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds.
The Corvette Z06 with its 505-horsepower, 7.0-liter V8 will soldier on in 2008 virtually unchanged.
