This event, now in its 12th year, is totally unlike any other motor show.

The event takes place in the heart of one of the largest cities in the world, and yet it is completely free for visitors to attend. In fact, last year, over 325,000 availed themselves of the opportunity.

How do they manage to do this? Well, instead of being held in one main exhibition building, the whole event takes place in and around the renowned Canary Wharf estate.

Canary Wharf - Cabot Place

This prestigious business area of London was actually built by the Reichmann brothers of Canada, and now houses the tallest building in England, One Canada Square. It is also home to several worldwide corporations, and houses most of Britain's newspaper and press industry.

During Motorexpo week, the Canary Wharf estate is literally transformed into one giant showroom, enabling London residents, and in particular, Canary Wharf workers (over 90,000) to view the latest vehicles right on their doorstep.

Since the first Motorexpo in 1996, the rapid growth of Canary Wharf has presented the world's motor manufacturers with even more opportunities to showcase their latest models to the city's public. The exhibition areas which now include a variety of visually impressive settings such as landscaped parks, marble reception areas and even fountain-lined squares.

The unique layout of this event not only enables visitors to get closer to the actual cars (and motorcycles) on display, but they can even embark on an immediate test drive if they wish, as several manufacturers offer these directly from their stands!

Naturally, as this show is truly unique to the world of auto shows, your Auto123.com team will be there to cover the event for you...so stay tuned to London123.
