Gordon, on the other hand, should have been sat out of a few races a long time ago. Who hasn't he hit this year, and

clearly he has no clue about sporting etiquette. By his own admission, he drove Michael Waltrip up the track when he tried to pass him. "A little rub", Gordon called it, "nothing serious". Waltrip gets bumped up the track, holds his ground, turning Gordon into the wall - that's Waltrip's fault?

So Gordon first tries to back up into Waltrip as he comes by and misses him - the only car he's missed hitting this year - then gets out of his car and pegs his helmet at Waltrip. NASCAR will have to crack down, and expect those two to probably sit out at Dover - and rightly so.

Oh, one final note about next weekend at Dover....Newman's last win? Any guesses...2004 at...you guessed it....Dover.

Canada's Fastest Family?

Motorsports has some fairly famous racing 'families' in which multiple members have been very successful. The name Andretti

springs to mind at the top of the list, but there are numerous others like the Schumacher brothers in Formula 1, Wallace brothers in Nextel Cup, along with the Labontes and others.

In Canada, one of, if not the fastest 'family' in motorsports is clearly the Thomson clan. Brothers Don Thomson Jr. and Dennis Thomson have an amazing streak going, which dates back five years.

In 2000, Don Thomson Jr. steered his Fitzpatrick Motorsports Home Hardware Chevy Monte Carlo to the CASCAR championship - something he has done every year since. Not to be outdone,
Dennis Thomson joined the Ontario Pro Challenge series during its inaugural season in 2001 and has won the title every year since.
Dennis Thomson joined the Ontario Pro Challenge series in its inaugural season in 2001. He won that year, and like his brother Don, has won theOntario Pro Challenge Series title every year since. That's nine championships in the last five years for the two brothers.

"It's just unbelievable to imagine what this Home Hardware Fitzpatrick Motorsports team has done," Don Thomson Jr. said after clinching the championship this year. "To be this competitive and to win the championship for so many years in a row is really something to be proud of. There has been some luck involved, but the people who make up and support this team have contributed to something special."
