A third consecutive victory for Antoine L'Estage.... After having won the Baie-des-Chaleurs and the Défi Ste-Agathe/Duhamel rallies earlier this
season, Quebec rally driver Antoine L'Estage clinched a third consecutive victory this weekend, finishing first in Round 5 of the Canadian Rally Championship, the Pacific Forest Rally held in British Columbia.
L'Estage's main challenge came from American Matthew Iorio who finished the event in second place, six minutes down to the winning team. Norm LeBlanc of British Columbia finished third and beat Peter Thomson of Toronto, the current leader in the points' chase. Thomson, who finished fourth this weekend, is now seriously challenged by L'Estage in the race for the 2005 Canadian rally title...
England's top female racer Katherine Legge is to test for the "Minardi" team at Vallelunga at the end of next month. The 25-year-old from Northampton will be the first woman to have a meaningful F1 test since
the days of Giovanna Amati back 1991. Legge had an impressive season in Toyota Atlantic, where she actually won, not one, but three races, unlike another female that was in that series...
Paul Tracy may not be done with NASCAR just yet. Sources say his temperature has gone cold at RCR, and Clint Boyer is now the favourite son to move up. Tracy is, however, still on one team's short list, a new team co-owned by Dallas Cowboys retired quarterback Troy Aikman.
