MF1 Racing
MF1 will bring its M16 with Toyota power, which should be a handful for Christijan Albers and Tiago Monteiro. The last couple
of chassis' the various incarnations of this team have produced, have been, well, 'challenging' to drive to say the least. MF1 is basically around until someone else buys it. They will be at the back all year.
Torro Rosso
The new 'Minardi' team, more commonly known as Red Bull2, could well be the surprise of the year. American Scott Speed and Italian Vitantonio Luzzi, the former an F1 rookie and the latter an also ran at Red Bull1 last year, are both chargers, and have the capability to get the most out of what they are given. In a strange way, this driver lineup would be ideal at Toyota, but I think they will impress all year. Realistically, they can't do any worse than Minardi has in previous years. Look for Speed to become the new golden boy of Formula 1 by mid season.
Super Aguri
So far we know they will have a Honda engine, with no drivers and no chassis.
Not a good position to be in with less than a month before the first GP. My guess, they should stay at home - they are out of their league here. That said there's nothing like a full field of back markers for increasing passing opportunities and making the race more entertaining.
So, there we have it, now in layman's terms, what do I think will happen. I think the battle will be between Ferrari and Williams, just like the good old days. McLaren's reliability will cost them, as it did last year, while the Michelins on Renault could cause problems for the French outfit as well, which opens the door for Red Bull and Toyota to have good seasons.
Rest assured there will be a lot of sweating heading into the first race, and not only because of the heat in Bahrain.
