Montoya
to Renault? This may not be too far off the mark. The Spanish press reported that the Columbian's manager, Julian Jakobi, has had a few talks with Renault but has yet to discuss the issue with Team Boss Flavio Briatore. With Montoya a Spanish speaker, it could help keep sponsor Telefonica with Renault, especially as they will have to do without Mild Seven tobacco sponsorship in 2007.
There's no need for a question mark when discussing Berger's new relationship with Red Bull. Scuderia Toro Rosso has a new 50 percent partner in Gerhard Berger's motorsport company. Red Bull, in turn, bought 50 percent of Berger's shipping company.
"The involvement of a company like Red Bull is an important milestone for the Berger
shipping company and for its successful future development," commented Berger. "On the other hand, I am aware that my Formula 1 know-how is very much valued by Red Bull in general, and by the Italian Toro Rosso team in particular. Last but not least I'm looking forward to not only continuing to have a great time with Dietrich Mateschitz, but also to being able to implement serious and visionary business developments together in the future."
Berger was the first top line athlete to be involved with Red Bull in the mid-1980s and played an important role in promoting the drink in the early years within Austria.
DTM to France
The
German-based DTM touring car championship will race at France's historic Le Mans venue in 2006. The event will be the ninth round of the championship, and it is the first time the series will race in France since its revival in 2000.
