The Spanish press reported that the Columbian's manager, Julian Jakobi, has had a few talks with Renault but has yet to discuss the issue with Team Boss Flavio Briatore. With Montoya a Spanish speaker, it could help keep sponsor Telefonica with Renault, especially as they will have to do without Mild Seven tobacco sponsorship in 2007.

Berger was the first top line athlete to be involved with Red Bull in the mid-1980s and played an important role in promoting the drink in the early years within Austria.
