Ford has not won a NASCAR Sprint Cup race since its two early victories this year in February at Daytona and Fontana. The Michigan International Speedway has always been good for Ford in the last few years.

Ford’s best driver in the Cup series, Carl Edwards (Ford No 99) did not do better than 32nd.
Actually, pole sitter is Brian Vickers (Camry No 83) for a third time in a row at that specific track. He is followed by Mark Martin (Chevy No 5), Juan Pablo Montoya (Chevy No 42), Jimmie Johnson (Chevy No 48) and Martin Truex (Chevy No 1).
