American Jason Bowles earned his first NASCAR Canadian Tire Series pole position in career on Friday ahead of Saturday's Streets of Toronto 100. He even broke Andrew Ranger's track record from last year.

The 2009 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West champion set a new record with a lap in 1:16.260 (82.801 mph) around the 1.755-mile temporary road course of the Toronto's Exhibition Place.

Two-time series champion Ranger qualified second despite the fact he had the fastest car in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series practice earlier in the day with a fast lap of 1:16.526 (82.513).

Points leader Scott Steckly was third at 1:17.002 (82.003) while Kerry Micks and Don Thomson Jr. qualified fourth and fifth, respectively.

Louis-Phillippe and Jean-François Dumoulin, both from Trois Rivieres, qualified respectively in 11th and 20th spot. As for Isabelle Tremblay, she managed to settle in 21st position.

Ranger and Bowles are expected to go at it again on Saturday as they finished 1-2 last year in the inaugural race at Toronto.
