Series leader Andrew Ranger (Ford Fusion) took another victory today at the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivieres, his fifth of the season in an incident filled round of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

Right from the start, pole sitter Alex Tagliani (Chevrolet) and Ranger battled it out for the lead and on lap 8, Ranger was able to pass Tagliani who went wide in one of the turn.

Four laps later, the driver of the Chevrolet No. 03 regained the lead by doing the same move on Ranger. Meanwhile, Scott Steckly stopped flat on the track and the championship runner-up was out of contention due to a transmission problem.

On lap 24, Ranger took back the lead but it looks as though Tagliani was having problem with his car. The former IndyCar driver goes into the pits to finally never come out due to engine problems.

Patrice Brisebois, who made some good moves all through the race, was also forced to exit to the pits having engine problems.

Afterwards, even tough Ranger was still holding on to the lead, Anthony Simone (Chevrolet) and DJ Kennington (Dodge) were closing in and were giving the Roxton Pond native a good run for his money.

Each time there was a restart, Ranger was able to maintain his No. 27 Ford Fusion ahead and he finally came thru the finish line with a mere 0.494 seconds over Simone.

DJ Kennington finished third ahead of Jacques Villeneuve (Chevrolet) and Ron Beauchamp Jr. (Dodge) who rounded up the top 5.
