Andrew Ranger (Ford) won the postponed Komatsu 300 at the Riverside International Speedway today and clinched by the same token this year Nascar Canadian Tire championship.

The young Quebecer took the lead over from Jeff Lapcevich (Chevrolet) on Lap 252 and cross the finish line to win his 6th race of the season without having to watch for championship runner-up DJ Kennington (Dodge) who ended the race almost at the end of the field.

There was a lot of action on the track and a lot of frontrunners had their share of problems all thru the 300-lap race but Ranger, for one, managed to have a clean run and earned another victory on an oval.

It is the second championship for Ranger, who won in 2007, and the 22-year old dominated most of the season either on road courses and on the ovals where he had been unsuccessful in the past.

The NCTS season finale will be held at the Kawartha Speedway in Ontario September the 26th.
