Veteran racer Carl Edwards (Ford No 60) finally won his first NASCAR race of the season by grabbing the checkered at the Nationwide Northerntool.com 250 at the one-mile Milwaukee oval track on Saturday night.

Edwards had to start from the last row since he had not qualified the car personally. Actually, he had just flown in from his NASCAR Sprint Cup practice in Sonoma, California just as series leader Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) did.

Both drivers worked their way to the front and while Busch began to lead lap after lap, Edwards finally passed him a little before the last quarter of the race never to relinquish first place. Busch finished second followed by Brad Keselowski (Chevy No 88).

Pole sitter and rookie Eric Darnell (Ford No 6), for whom it was a first ever event at the Milwaukee Mile, came in fourth followed by other rookie and teammate Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (Ford No 16).

Though disappointed, Busch still leads the series with 127 points followed by Edwards who could only take back 10 points to Busch's lead. Brad Keselowski still is third, 218 points out of the lead.

The series moves to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway next Saturday afternoon.
