Kasey Kahne (Dodge No 9) started on the pole at the Pocono 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race on Sunday afternoon but soon got into trouble that would send him far back in the field. However, the young driver fought back and, with the help of his team, he finally got back to the front to eventually win the race.

He was followed at the finish by Brian Vickers (Camry No 83) and Denny Hamlin (Camry No 11).

Khane's teammate, Canadian Patrick Carpentier (Dodge No 10) started in 22nd place but a few racing incidents also sent him back down to 32nd sport where he finished his race.

Series leader Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) got involved in an accident early in the race. He tried to make a comeback but it did not work. He thus ended last but he still leads the series with 21 points over Jeff Burton (Chevy No 31).
