The Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California always brings in an unusual winner. Sunday’s Toyota/SaveMart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup race was no exception.

There was fighting and dicing all around the 1.99-mile road race track but at the end, Kasey Kahne (Dodge No 9) finally won the first of two NASCAR Sprint Cup road races.

Veteran Tony Stewart (Chevy No 14) tried very hard but he could not do better than second. On the other hand, Marcos Ambrose (Toyota No 47) finished third in an exciting fender banging event where 2008 champ Jimmie Johnson (Chevy No 48) came in fourth and Denny Hamlin (Camry No 11) fifth.

Canadians Patrick Carpentier (Camry No 55) and Ron Fellows (Chevy No 09) finished respectively 11th and 27th. Tony Stewart still leads the series followed by Jef f Gordon (Chevy No 24) and Jimmie Johnson.

The Sprint Cup series will then move up to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway next Sunday afternoon.
