Darrell Wallace Jr. wrestled the lead away from Max Gresham for the final time on lap 79 and held on to win the inaugural Blue Ox 100 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at Richmond International Raceway on Thursday night.
For Wallace it was a third victory in just his 13th career start in the K&N Pro Series East.
Brett Moffitt wound up second with Corey LaJoie, Gresham and Alex Bowman in the top five.
Canadian Andrew Ranger finished a distant 22nd after experiencing problems with the stability of his No.35 Waste Management car due to a slow punctured tired while running fourth with about 25 laps to go.
“The crew gave me a fast car yesterday,” Ranger declared.
“And I was in the thick of things until I probably hit debris on the track. That caused a slow puncture which made my car unstable and left me going down in the ranks.”
The K&N Pro Series East will next be in action when it is joined by the K&N Pro Series West in the annual East-West Challenge presented by Tompkins Industries at Iowa Speedway on May 21.
