Definitely, Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) has not finished amazing NASCAR fans.

Starting 30th in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at the 1.99-mile Infineon Raceway road course in California, he rapidly went through the field to lead the race, something he would do for 78 of the 112 laps.

No so-called road race specialists even came close to Busch.

Amazingly, David Gilliland (Ford No 38) finished second followed by veteran and many times road race winner Jeff Gordon (Chevy No 24).

As far as Canadians Patrick Carpentier (Dodge No 10) and Ron Fellows (Chevy No 01) are concerned, they respectively finished 23rd and 29th.

Carpentier had to fight an ill-handling car all day while Fellows got involved in a multiple-car crash that sent him from the top-10 bunch to the end of the pack towards the end of the race.

Kasey Kahne (Dodge No 9) who had the pole, quickly vanished and finished 33rd.
