Ricky Carmichael, a five-time AMA Supercross champion will enter the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Daytona this coming Friday.
Carmichael will drive the No. 4 Chevrolet Silverado entered by Kevin Harvick Inc. and is scheduled to take part in at least 14 of the 25 races in the 2009 calendar.
Carmichael, who is the rider with the most championships (15) in the AMA history, added that his age and safety were factors in his decision to jump to NASCAR after retiring from two-wheeled competition.
