Brad Keselowski (Chevy No 88) won the Carfax 250 NASCAR Nationwide race Saturday afternoon at the Michigan In ternational Speedway in a spectacular way.

Keselowski passed both pole sitter Brain Vickers (Camry No 32) and Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) who were very busy fighting it off for first place at the very last lap of the event.

The race started in a spectacular way too as it was very hot in Michigan making the track very slippery. Proof positive, on lap 2, as he was about to pass young rookie Trevor Bayne (Camry No 99) who, incidentally, started the race in second place, veteran Carl Edwards (Ford No 60), second in points in the championship, make a very rare mistake.

Edwards drove down, barely touching Bayne and sending both cars in a wild dance that ended with Edwards hitting Bayne a second time and then crashing heavily into the wall.

Finally, Vickers (who also has the pole tomorrow in the Sprint Cup race) ended up second followed by a frustrated Kyle Busch who came back to hit Vickers’ car after the race.

David Ragan (Ford No 6) finished fourth followed by Kevin Harvick (Chevy No 33). As for Edwards, his 40th place finish did not help him in the Chase for the Championship.

Busch still leads and Edwards is still second but he is now 339 points behind as third place Keselowski seems to be gaining on Edwards with now only 389 points behind Busch.

The next Nationwide race will be run at the unique Bristol Motor Speedway next Friday evening.
