Parker Kligerman is only 18, and a rookie, winning seven races in the ARCA series. He’s only 25 points out of the lead with two races remaining. He will be attempting to make his debut in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at Kansas Speedway this Saturday in a Penske Dodge in the Kansas Lottery 300.

The Penske team have also entered him in the Nationwide Series closer at Miami Homestead Speedway scheduled for November 21st.

“I am very excited to get my first opportunity to race at the NASCAR level with the Penske Racing Nationwide Series team,” said Kligerman in a press release.

“It’s definitely going to be a challenge, but I know the team will give me a great car. Penske Racing has a lot of experience and this will definitely help us as we prepare to go to the next level.”

On Thursday he’ll race, for Cunningham Racing, in the ARCA150-miler at Kansas Speedway then attempt to qualify for the Nationwide race.

“When Penske Racing brought Parker on board last season, we felt he had a bright future in NASCAR and he’s continued to improve and mature as a driver,” said Penske Racing President Tim Cindric.

“He’s done a great job this year as he has shown that he can run at the front any type of track while being consistent enough to challenge for the ARCA Series championship. Parker has earned the opportunity to show what he can do at the next level and we’re looking forward to competing with him in the Nationwide Series this season and it should prepare him to take advantage of further opportunities in 2010.”
