NASCAR officials waited long enough but even if the track is now lit for night racing, rain cancelled all chances of qualifying for Saturday evening's LifeLock 400 Sprint Cup race to be held at the Chicagoland Speedway.

Consequently, cars will start according to NASCAR rules that include point standings, previous championships, qualifying attempts and more.

So points' leader Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) will have the pole position with Dale Earnhardt (Chevy No 88) at his side. Jeff Burton (Chevy No 31) will start third.

Canadian Patrick Carpentier will have to start from the 40th position though he ran the 16th best time in practice!
