Patrick Carpentier surprised everyone by grabbing the pole position at the NASCAR Sprint Cup LENOX Industrial Tools 301 run this Sunday at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway but our own Patrick Carpentier (Dodge No 10) lasted only five laps up front.

It was a lot better than the unique lap he hoped for but the rest of the race turned out to be a real torture for Carpentier. The brakes on his Dodge started fading out and he would finish 31st in the rain shortened race. Actually, the race was ended prematurely on lap 284 because of rain.

When the yellow flag was thrown a few laps earlier, all the leaders including leader Tony Stewart (Camry No 20) came into the pits for service. Many drivers stayed on the track. But the race had to be stopped and finally, Kurt (and not Kyle) Busch (Dodge No 2) was declared the winner followed by the surprising Michael Waltrip (Camry No 55) and J.J. Yeley (Camry No 96).
