Richard Petty Motorsports announced today that it had signed A.J. Allmendinger for the entire 2010 Sprint Cup season. The team had recently confirmed that the former open-wheel ace would continue on through September of this year.
The Petty team signed Allmendinger before the start of the 2009 season with plans to run the Bud Shootout and the first eight point races.
Sponsorship from Dodge, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Valvoline, Harrah's, Super 8, the Paralyzed Veterans of America and Charter Communications extended Allmendinger's schedule through the September 12 Richmond race and, according to the team's chief executive officer, Tom Reddin, RPM will secure the sponsorship needed for Allmendinger to complete the season.
