NASCAR officials met with a number of team principals and drivers at the NASCAR Research and Development center in Concord, NC this week to discuss possible safety changes to the Car of Tomorrow (Cot).

According to a story by Lee Spencer, of Foxsports.com, one of the items discussed was replacing the rear wing and going back to the spoiler, which was used on the previous cars.

Although the roof flaps, which have been in use for years, have been successful in limiting the 3,400-pound cars from getting airborne when turned around they have been foolproof.

Two big, separate, accidents, at Talladega last year, saw Carl Edwards flip over in the spring race and Ryan Newman flip in the autumn race.

According to the article, there have been limited wind tunnel tests at a Dodge facility, but no action will be taken before March.
