A gas shortage in the southern part of the USA is creating a lot of concerns for the fans that are planning to make the trip to attend the next NASCAR Sprint Cup event at the Talladega super speedway this weekend.
The shortage of gasoline is the direct result of the passage of hurricane Ike that forced a decrease in the production in some major refineries in some part of the South. The shortage was so severe that U.S. College football games had to be postponed last weekend.
Officials believe that the situation could be back to normal at the end of the week but that visitors from the Atlanta region should be careful as this region is still far from full capacity.
