Bentley will use the 2016 Geneva Auto Show to host the world premiere of the new Mulsanne lineup. For the first time, three different models with specific features and characteristics will be available including the Mulsanne, Mulsanne Speed, and Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase.
The standard Mulsanne wears the Bentley matrix grille behind new, large stainless steel vertical vanes — a tribute to legendary models such as the 8 Litre of 1930, Embiricos, and R-Type Continental. It also boasts an 18-speaker, 2,200W Naim for Bentley sound system, an advanced blind spot monitoring system that works between 10-250 km/h, dual 10.2” monitors for rear-seat passengers, and a selection of 24 cowhides. Under the long hood is a 6.75L V8 that produces 512 horsepower and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.
The Bentley Mulsanne Speed gets the same engine, but with a few tweaks that bump output to 537 horsepower and improve top speed from 296 to 305 km/h. There’s a 3-mode suspension system (Bentley, Comfort, Sport), as well as 21” hand-finished wheels, dark-tinted headlights and taillights, and sporty interior touches.
Finally, the Bentley Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase rides on a 250mm longer wheelbase that provides additional legroom in the rear, where occupants also enjoy airline-style, electronic ottomans that extend outward and pivot. Other highlights include a full-length centre console appointed in the finest hand-crafted veneer, metal, glass and leather, a large-format sunroof, and available folding tables.
