Interior Room and Trunk Size Increased
While some previously predicted a retractable hardtop for Mercedes-Benz' next generation CLK Cabriolet, due out this fall, it will definitely return with a soft fabric convertible top.

The Cabriolet will build on the recently revamped CLK coupe, that offers a larger interior and more raked exterior profile. Also reported, the trunk will increase in size by 10 percent, while rollover safety improves via sensor-controlled pop-up roll bars integrated into the rear headrests.

The CLK should be quick too, as it makes use of the larger and heavier CL500's 5.0-L V8 in top trim, good for 302-hp. The brand's 3.2-L V6 is smooth and flexible but not as powerful as the majority of its premium brand competitors at 215-hp.
Expect prices to come in close to the current CLK's $61,000 base, with the top model reaching over $100,000.
