If you've been busy perusing the internet, you may have caught some 'sneak peak' information about the 2009 Mitsubishi Galant, which just debuted at the 100th Chicago Auto Show. The revised sedan will deliver a new value standard and new user technology, Mitsubishi says.

A mild restyle sees the addition of a new grille, taillights and some additional body sculpting. The rear window has been made wider, and there's a new bumper in back, too.

Four trim levels will be offered- starting off with the ES, and followed by a "Sport" designated model with either four or six cylinder power. The range is topped off with the performance-tuned Ralliart model.

Galant Ralliart features its own suspension with higher-rate springs and dampers, combined with a 21-mm rear stabilizer bar. Eighteen-inch wheels are standard, as are upsized front and rear brake discs. With its 3.8 litre V6 delivering 258 horsepower, drivers can expect 0-60 in about 6 seconds- making it one of the quickest machines in its class.

Regardless of engine choice, all models come standard with an automatic gearbox with manual mode. Mitsubishi also promises that their added value packages for 2009 will represent an MSRP advantage of about $1,000.

The revised Galant goes on sale later this month.
