Toyota's Avalon is a large luxury sedan that has become a popular hit with buyers after world-class luxury and amenities built into a well-made and reliable package. For 2008, the Avalon has been given a new bumper and grille, new headlamps, new options and a new six-speed transmission to help enhance the performance of its high output V6 engine.

The resulting car is the perfect blend of power and roominess, Toyota says.

"From a new front-end design and updated interior trim, to the generous list of standard features, to Toyota's unsurpassed fit and finish, the 2008 Avalon sets a new benchmark in the premium full-size sedan market," said Tony Wearing, Managing Director of Toyota Canada Inc. "The most exciting new addition for this year's model is our six-speed automatic transmission, which complements a powerful 3.5 Litre engine."

Inside, Canadian shoppers will benefit from interior touches including an MP3 audio input jack, wood and leather wrapped steering wheel and Bluetooth capability. The Avalon will come in fully-loaded XLS trim, with an impressive selection of hardware.

A premium package adds a powerful JBL stereo, rain-sensing wipers, eight-way power-adjustable drivers seat and a colored rear spoiler. A helpful navigation system is also available, displayed on a 6.5" LCD scren.

$41,840 opens the bidding for Toyota's updated luxo-cruiser.
