Nissan plans to enter the commercial vehicle market in 2010, and their latest and largest concept is a hint into the near future for commercial offerings for the brand. The NV2500 concept will take the stage at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this January, and it represents one of the biggest concepts ever created by the automaker.

NV2500 will boast flexible and innovative utility solutions to help it cater to a wide variety of needs. NV2500 boasts some trademark Nissan truck styling cues- including an angular three-segment grille, blocky and athletic fascia and strong, smooth lines.

Earlier this year, Nissan also announced plans to enter the light commercial vehicle market with several new vehicles over the next several years, including some with Cummins diesel engines and ZF transmissions.

"Globally, the LCV business is now a substantial part of Nissan's sales and profitability, representing a significant part of Nissan total vehicle sales," said Andy Palmer, Corporate Vice President and head of the LCV global business unit, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. "We already have major operations in Japan, China and Europe and so it is natural that we are now ready to expand our business in North America."
