Claude Béchard, Quebec's Minister of Natural Resources and Wildlife
With oil prices skyrocketing once again, Claude Béchard, Quebec's Minister of Natural Resources and Wildlife, wants to resume talks on his transparency project. CAA-Quebec said it's ready to work with the ministry. The organization represents some 935,000 consumers across the province.

CAA-Quebec is willing to collaborate with the various political parties, whether they're part of the government or the opposition, to resurrect the opinions expressed last December during a special parliamentary commission.

Sophie Gagnon, Director of Government and Public Relations, told members of the Parliament that the expertise developed by CAA-Quebec and Info-Essence could prove very useful. The organization is supporting the Quebec government with Bill 41, which aims to foster transparency in the sale of gasoline and diesel fuel.

For CAA-Quebec and the Charest administration, the proposed law will allow consumers to pay a fair price for gasoline and diesel based on the actual market value.
