Orders suspended for Dodge's almighty SRT Hellcat models

By ,

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and Charger SRT Hellcat are enjoying so much success right now that the company had to temporarily halt orders to meet demand. So far, 2,200 units have been delivered out of 9,000+ orders.

In case you didn't know, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat and Challenger SRT Hellcat are equipped with a 6.2L V8 engine that produces an insane 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. The former accelerates from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 328 km/h, while the latter needs less than four seconds to reach 100 km/h and tops out at 320 km/h. They're also pretty affordable given their output ratings: $67,195 for the coupe and $67,695 for the sedan.

Dodge plans to build approximately 5,000 engines for the customized Hellcats annually. Don’t expect the order books to reopen until August.
