The 36 years old driver, who recently had a son with his wife and bought a $3M house in Montreal, already confirmed that he will take part in the 24 Hours of Mans in June (with Peugeot). However, there are no words yet on his future beyond that.
The rumor mill never stops and, although a spot in the 2007 Nascar season is possible, nothing is sealed. It appears Jacques and his long-time friend/manager, Craig Pollock, have not yet found the $18 millions (US dollars) necessary to race in Nascar's Busch series this year.
In a recent article published in the Journal de Montreal, Pollock said that Jacques would finally accept a spot in the lower-class series before graduating to the Nextel Cup in 2008. Let's see how things work out this spring; with Jacques, nothing should ever really surprise us!
Antoine Bessette and Kevin Lacroix, two other promising young drivers from Quebec, have yet to find a team for the 2007 season.

Canadian Rally Championship season.
Here's hoping he and his co-driver find the money needed to guarantee their spot in this extremely exciting rally series. After all, they were the 2006 champions! Rally drivers are certainly not different from other drivers: they need cash!
As you can see, no matter which series they're racing in, drivers are not only battling each other, they're also fighting for the financial support of sponsors. Few companies dare to become highly involved in motorsports and that's a real shame for our local drivers.
