Philip Major is a young 19-year-old driver from Ottawa who's competing in his first season ever in the British Formula 3 series for the Fortec Racing Team. Before coming to Europe, Major has been competing in various North-American motorsport series.
While competing in the Formula BMW USA series during the 2007 season, Major scored his first ever podium, finishing third in Montreal. He also scored his first pole of the year at Road America.
The season before, the young Canadian, while in his first season in single seater racing, scored three top ten finishes still in the Formula BMW USA Championship.
In 2005, Major was the youngest driver in the Honda/Michelin Challenge Series, where he finished runner up in the Rookie Standings, and that was also the year he scored his first sedan victory.
In 2003-04 Major raced karts in Ottawa and competed in the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship.
