Porsche factory driver Romain Dumas treated himself to a little fun on August 12, taking part in the annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The Frenchman took many by surprise, winning the Open class with a time of 9min46.181 – a time good enough for second in the overall classification. Dumas was only beaten by American drift and rally specialist Rhys Millen aboard his Hyundai Genesis coupe.

The 2010 Le Mans-winner was at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R, a car originally built for GT3-spec racing, but modified for the very specific demands of the legendary Pikes Peak climb: engine, gearbox, shocks and aero package.
