Motorsport legend Walter Rohrl is to make one more Pikes Peak run, aboard his 600-horsepower Audi Sport Quattro S1.
25 years have come and gone since Rohrl's last attempt up the Colorado summit. And times have changed.
The man is now 65 years old for one, and the course is now paved, unlike back in 1987, when Rohrl set a 10min47,85s time over loose sand and gravel - no guardrails.
"This year it'll be very different, as it's the first year the whole 19.9 kilometre climb is lined with tarmac. Will he [Rohrl] be any less sideways? We doubt it," wrote Top Gear's Rowan Horncastle about the glorious return.
