Pontiac's returned to spinning the rear wheels in its latest sedan, the G8. The latest model will offer two engine choices, nimble handling, top-notch quality and a sporty, rear-drive architecture.
Standard equipment includes StabiliTrak, traction control, driver-controlled shifting, tilt / telescoping steering wheel, remote start, power seats and satellite radio.
Pricing starts at $31,995 for the G8 V6, which comes powered by a 256 horsepower, 3.6 liter V6 engine with variable valve timing. The engine is mated to a five-speed hydra-matic automatic transmission, and will deliver a great balance of performance and mileage.
The V8 Pontiac G8 GT comes with a six-liter smallblock V8 engine, delivering 361 horsepower which enable the machine to run from 0 to 60 in just 5.3 seconds. GM says the G8 GT comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, though no mention of a manual gearbox was made regarding either car.
"Delivering driving character and performance typical of more expensive cars, the new Pontiac G8 will definitely punch above its weight," said Marc Comeau, vice president of sales, service and marketing for GM Canada. "With its bold styling, dynamic design and sport-biased set-up, the G8 will be sure to put a smile on the face of driving enthusiasts."
