Porsche has officially announced their intention of introducing new model ranges in order to increase their offering to the buying public. The first result of this decision will be the Cajun, an efficient and sporty entry-level SUV/CUV made to attract new and younger customers. By enlarging the range of available products, the company is clearly indicating that they are not different from others, as they want to improve sales figures and that the best way to do so is through volume.

The Cajun will share its platform with the Audi Q5 but will offer only 2 doors, much like the Range Rover Evoque. We can safely assume that a 4-door version will be made available a little while later, much like the Evoque. With this in mind, we can expect to find an Audi V6 (most likely the 3.2L mill) under the hood, although we would really love to see the 265 hp 2.0-litre TFSI engine currently used in the TTS.

This is definitely good news for anyone wanting to get a Porsche SUV/CUV without having to spend the big bucks needed for a Cayenne.
