Friday’s auction was dominated by the prancing horse brand, with first place obviously going to the Ferrari 166 MM. Eleven cars from Maranello were featured in the catalogue, including a 1965 Ferrari 500 Superfast (only 32 were ever made) that a buyer was willing to acquire for 935,000 USD. The 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spyder belonging to famous baseball player Reggie Jackson sold for 880,000 USD, while a 1995 Ferrari F50 that had been featured on the international auto show circuit the year the model was launched (with only 1,600 km on the odometer) was snapped up for 742,500 USD.

Elvis fans will remember this car, featured in the 1966 film Spinout. Lastly, an impressive 1931 Marmon Sixteen Coupe, of which only six specimens remain, set a new sales record for the American brand, reaping 687,500 USD.
The next RM Auctions event will take place in Florida on Saturday, March 12, with a new edition of the Amelia Island sale coinciding with the Concours d’Elegance of the same name. The RM team will then be off to the shores of Lake Como, in Italy, for a Saturday, May 21 auction held during the famous Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, a first for this grand exhibition.
