Rotax Max Western Canada Challenge goes big in 2010

The Rotax Max Western Canada Challenge (WCC) has released information on this year’s events with trips to Rotax Max World Finals on the line.

The WCC season will kick off on May 21-23 at the Greg Moore Raceway, Chilliwack, BC. The rest of the schedule is; July 2-4 at Saskatoon Kart Racers, Saskatoon, SK and July 30- Aug 1at Stratotech Raceway, Edmonton, AB.

The format for the 2010 WCC is as follows. Monday through Wednesday the week of the events, there will be a testing ban. Thursday will be a non-official practice hosted by the local club at their regular test and tune price and under test and tune insurance which will be followed by official WCC practice on Friday.

The Saturday/Sunday format is a Warm-up, then Qualifying with a Prefinal, Final for each day. Registration is $170 for both days, but the WCC also offers a $20 pre-registration discount, (registration for Chilliwack opens Monday April 12, 2010 and closes Friday May 14th, 2010) and a second class is $80.

The classes of the 2010 WCC will be: Micro Max, Mini Max, Junior Max, Senior Max (with Masters), DD2, with the Junior, Senior and DD2 all offering trips to the world finals for the championship winners. The WCC also announced that pre-qualification races may apply for Rotax classes receiving world finals prizes except for DD2. Official details will be released soon. The WCC is open Eastern drivers with proof of two previous qualifiers.

Support classes for the WCC will include, 4-cycle J1, 4 cycle J2, World Formula Junior, World Formula Light, World Formula Heavy, Briggs Animal, Honda Light and Honda Heavy. Support classes may be combined into groups separated above.
