Refined sport sedan carries revitalized Saturn image
General Motors today announced pricing details for the 2007 Saturn Aura sedan, due to arrive in Saturn dealerships this September. The Aura builds

on a new styling direction for the brand which originated with the gorgeous Sky Roadster. The Aura will be offered in two trim levels.

The starting price for a well equipped XE model is just $24,990. Standard features include ABS disc brakes at each corner, head curtain side-impact airbags, front seat mounted airbags, power locks, windows and mirrors and keyless remote access. Safety and confidence is further enhanced by the standard OnStar system and traction control. The styling is finished with standard 17 inch wheels, and both models carry sophisticated sports-sedan suspension design and advanced engines for lively handling and power to match their character.

Power for the well-equipped XE model comes by way of a 3.5 litre V6 engine which utilizes Variable Valve Timing (VVT) to help generate 224 horsepower and a stout 220 pounds feet of torque. Power is routed to the pavement via a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The Aura's top line model carries the XR designation and adds significantly to the list of standard features, with upgraded components including polished 18-inch, 14-spoke wheels and StabiliTrack for safe and confident handling. Under the sleek hood of the XR, GM's 3.6 litre four-cam V6 with VVT serves up 252 horsepower and 251 pounds feet of torque, ensuring the XR models have "go" to match their "show".

That's quite a job, really, because the Aura is quite the looker. Unique design elements work to set the model apart from its competition, carrying

Saturn's stylish new presence to the marketplace. Jewel-like headlamps and a chrome grille work well with the large wheels to convey a sense of energetic class, while occupants can enjoy a cutting-edge interior made of quality materials which assembled with exceptional attention to detail in a two-tone color scheme.

"The Aura represents another key step in Saturn's revitalization, which was first introduced with the popular Saturn Sky," said Dave McCall, Saturn's director of marketing for Canada.

2007 is indeed a year full of excitement for the brand. Aside from the Sky and Aura, Saturn will also launch the Vue Greenline Hybrid which is intended to be a cost-effective way for customers to park a hybrid vehicle in their driveways. Additionally, the Outlook crossover vehicle is due out later in the year, as is the Sky Red Line- a turbocharged edition of the new roadster which promises serious speed.
